About me
Hi, I’m Selene - a design girl with a passion for making things work better, look better, and feel better.
I’ve spent over a decade designing digital experiences across B2B, SaaS, and B2C products, working with teams at Monash University, Mazda Australia, ANZ Bank, OpenCities and more. I enjoy untangling complex challenges, designing for real people, and turning “this is a bit messy” into something clear and usable.
At Mazda Australia, I worked on large-scale digital sales and service journeys, from car configuration and finance integration to cross-channel experiences that connected marketing, sales, and dealer networks. It was hands-on, data-informed, and full of real-world constraints, which is exactly the kind of challenge I enjoy.
More recently, I partnered with Monash University on a high-stakes milestone workflow used by 8,000+ graduate research students, supervisors, and administrators. Lots of moving parts, lots of edge cases, and very satisfying when it all came together.
When I’m not in Figma or watching user recordings, you’ll usually find me experimenting in the kitchen or planning my next camping trip.
I’m curious about how people and AI work best together, and how thoughtful, inclusive design can turn that collaboration into something genuinely useful for everyone.
My design superpowers
-
I believe people come to work with good intentions and want to do their best. I support others by mentoring junior designers and step in when needed to create alignment, helping teams work confidently toward shared goals.
I value collaborative, psychologically safe environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to bring thoughts together.
-
I bring a strong enterprise background that helps me navigate complex ecosystems and ambiguous problem spaces. At the same time, my start-up experience has equipped me with a lean, resourceful approach, using practical tools and lightweight processes to ensure work is delivered on time and within budget.
-
I thrive when the problems are complex, with multiple layers, diverse stakeholders, and sometimes competing needs. I focus on the bigger picture, helping teams understand the ‘why’ behind the work while balancing creativity, technology, business goals, and user needs.
Navigating this complexity requires prioritising what truly matters and aligning the team, so we deliver solutions that are both innovative and practical, with clear impact.
